About Jeff Shields
Jeffery Shields,
specialises in helping people buy and sell residential and commercial real estate in
Qualicum Beach, Parksville, French Creek and all other areas
within the Oceanside community on beautiful Vancouver Island. He joined the RE/MAX organisation in 2003.
Jeff supports Children's Miracle Network
by designating your home a Miracle House®.
This means
that he will be making a contribution on your behalf to the
BC Children's Hospital Foundation
after the closing date on your purchase or sale. Share his joy, knowing that
YOU and RE/MAX Anchor Realty
are helping hospitalised children and making our community a better place.
He has been a volunteer member of the RE/MAX Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay team, putting his cooking skills to use
barbecuing for the runners. The Relay raises funds in support of the BC Lions Society's Easter Seals
Camping program. In 2004 the 24 Hour Relay, raising $1.2 million, helped send over
900 children with disabilities to one of the three specialized camps;
Shawnigan, Winfield and Squamish, for a six-day summer camping adventure.
There is no expense to the families for their children to attend.
Jeff's professional work experience before real estate includes
road and building construction, metallurgical research,
federal government, and 17 years in high technology
as a network programmer analyst.
He has travelled extensively, but since his first visit
to British Columbia in 1974, it became his intended destination
to live. Jeff moved to Vancouver in 1996 from
Toronto and to Vancouver Island in 2007.
He is a gourmet cook (according to some of his friends, a fair one according to him), an avid reader, computer whiz, canoeist, gardener and a budding golfer.
Jeff has been a student of eastern philosophies for over 35 years and has applied those lessons to a western life.
His daughter Erin — a UCSB graduate with a double
major in physics and biology — is currently pursuing a Ph.D.
in Marine and Geochemistry at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography
in San Diego, California.
She is an avid rock climber and traveller. She has visited such places as Peru, Kenya, India, England and Scotland, France, Mexico and Canada. She has also lived in Germany and Canada as well as the United States.
